I'm considering a few different boresighting tools and would like some input from this group. While various "reviews" are present on associated websites, I think this group can help even more. Take a look at the following boresights I'm considering and give me your opinion via the poll as well as any additional comments. Thanks in advance. They are as follows:

LaserLyte Universal Laser Boresighter

I guess it depends on what your bore sighting and how cheap ammo is(voted old fashioned way).

the older style like the bsa has it pros but think the lasers are probably faster and should work on more scopes even though you may need to use a more traditional method to level the scope, so it would be great to own both but would probably use the laser most of the time.

fmnnc,

I have the Leupold Zero Point (ZP). I'm extremely happy with the performance. The underlying physics are firmly rooted in optical magic. However, the short story is that bore sighting can occur in your basement with this tool. That's a plus on these cold winter days. I also like the fact that nothing goes inside the barrel for the bore sighting. The ZP attaches to the barrel face magnetically. I see that as a definite plus.

Another benefit is that when you are sighted in, you can get a reference boresight using the ZP. For example, if you are sighted in at 200 for a particular load, you can hand sketch the ZP grid pattern in a notebook, noting where the cross hairs align. This is great for double-checking a zero or returning to a load/sight baseline.

All in all, a pretty cool tool. I have used it on all my optically sighted rifles.

+1 for the Leupold.

You can simply take a picture through the scope. :)
