Hi !

Can somebody tell me where I can find a gun shop in Boston to buy brass
(243 win)and bullets?

I was looking in google but I couldn´t find anything.

Thanks for all

I used to frequent Roach's Sporting Goods in Cambridge.

A short hop on the red line.

Roachs Sporting Goods

(617) 876-5816
1957 Massachusetts Ave
Cambridge, Massachusetts 02140

Also, if you live in the western burbs, I think there's still a Lew Horton's in Framingham.

Much better deals in New Hampster, tho. If you don't mind driving a bit, check out Reilly's in Hooskett.

The second floor of the Kittery Trading Post in Kittery, Maine makes ma$$hole gun owners green with envy.

I used to know of a couple a little north of Boston - on Rt. 1 in the Danvers/Peabody area. Don't know if they are still there....

i think the only gun stores in boston proper that i can remember are those that cater to the wingshooting crowd.

i would have loved to set up an NFA shop on Newbury St, next to the emporio armani smack dab in the middle of the pinkie-in-the-air-latte-sipping college crowd.

imagine the look of horror on mr. throckmorton brahmin's face (i call 'em fuddurban's) when he walks in to get a quail gun and only sees street sweepers in the display case.

We will find you something

But as stated previously, there aren't any in Boston proper and Roach's doesn't sell components. In any case it's going to involve a drive of up to an hour.
Will that work?

New info

I just learned from people who know more than I do that you cannot
purchase any kind of components or reloading materials unless you are a resident of MA.

The closest we can come up with is Ryley's in Hookset NH and Kittery Trading Post in Kittery, Maine. Both are about an hour north of Boston.

Add to that your country may have some pretty stiff laws about importing as well.

Good luck

Thanks guys for your answers!

Maybe I will buy the 243 win brass in Midway USA or in other state near( for example Pensylvania) of MA.

If somebody knows something more about gun shops in Boston ,please tell me ;)

My town is 40 min from Boston and has two gunshops but im not sure they sell brass. There's Dave's sporting goods and Stateline guns ammo & archery.
They are right off 495 about a mile into NH from the mass border.

Sorry, OttoVonBismarck you can not buy any reloading components or even ammo in Massachusetts without a State issued FID or LTC. Mail order is out since it is illegal to have ammo or reloading components shipped into the state, and because of the regulations, most online sellers will not ship any ammo etc to Mass. You can apply for a temp license but I am not sure if foreign nationals are eligible to obtain a license.

Listen to me Otto, I am adding a very important detail. It is ILLEGAL for you to have in your possession any firearms, ammo or reloading components in Mass without a state license. If you get caught by the police with any of those items you would be arrested and do prison time or deported. Your playing with your future.

Please contact Goal for more info.

I think you should be able to get it at the gun shop next to Walmart in Westboro. Or further down RT9.

Also I know someone who mail ordered some brass from Australia or New Zealand to Belgium recently. Other than some import duty no issues...

BTW I can point you to some sources in France who could get you what you need as well, though it would be more expensive than the US. You could also try Frankonia.Fr they have everything.

Please close this thread.

Please stop giving him advice since he can not legally buy or have in his possession any firearm products in this state since he is a foreign national with no license. He would do jail time if he had any firearm products on him. We don't want that to happen.

cbsbyte - can you cite what law forbids him from having brass? i know he cant have ammo, or powder, but i havnt heard anything about brass.

damn, think this is it
Chapter 140: Section 121. Firearms sales; definitions; antique firearms; application of law; exceptions

Section 121. As used in sections 122 to 131P, inclusive, the following words shall, unless the context clearly requires otherwise, have the following meanings:-

“Ammunition”, cartridges or cartridge cases, primers (igniter), bullets or propellant powder designed for use in any firearm, rifle or shotgun. The term “ammunition” shall also mean tear gas cartridges, chemical mace or any device or instrument which contains or emits a liquid, gas, powder or any other substance designed to incapacitate.

There's nothing left up on Rt. 1, I grew up in Peabody....they've even closed down the Golden Banana. You just can't have fun in MA anymore!!

Hi

First of all I want to to give excuses if my questions was "bad". I dont want any problem with the US laws. I would buy some 243 brass cheaper than in Spain.

Thanks again

OttoVonBismarck

thats fine. heck, i live in MA and i dont even understand all the rules! if you really want 243 consider a trip to MA neighbor to the north, NH.

i imagien your coming here to visit family or something. see if you can make a day trip to NH. :)

Be careful. It's my understanding that simple possession of ammunition components by non licensed individuals in MA is illegal. I don't have a citation, but I do remember that from GOAL/NRA training classes...
