I picked up a used DPMS AR15 today at my LGS. I've heard good thinks about them and wondered who else on here has one. Thanks for the input.

They are pretty good guns. I have one of their LR-308 rifles and one of my AR's has some DPMS parts in it. They have both been good to me so far.

Next thing I would do is go out and get at least 1000 rounds of good ammo and some good magazines. Then head to the range and run it hard.

I've been thinking about a DPMS in .243 Win. Anything weird about this, or is it just as it appears, a .308 with a different barrel?

I know a guy who uses an Armalite .243 AR10 type rifle for hunting coyote.
Shoots very well and gets a lot of attention from the bolt gun shooters.
It isn't kind to the cartridge cases.

DPMS produces some very decent rifles for the money.

Sweeeeet! I'm glad I picked it up (actually put it on lay-away), should be able to get it out in a couple of weeks.

I have the AP4. I like it alot. Was considering a range trip today in fact.

I'd post pics but I'm too lazy right now.

The question is: where am I going to get the grenade launcher that's supposed to mount to the thing.

You'll enjoy your shooter. I enjoy mine.

I only use DPMS lowers on my AR builds. The finish is hard to beat and they match up nice to Colt and Bushy parts. I've used the lower parts kits also and have no complaints.

I have a Lo-Pro Classic that I bought when DPMS started putting together rifles. Free-Floated it with an inexpensive Hogue kit, bipod and 2X10 Mildot scope. Darn thing has never malfunctioned and is a tac driver. My second was a Bushmaster, although it is a great gun also, I cannot see where the extra $300 went. Congrats, and enjoy!

Bought my first AR15 a few weeks ago ...it is the DPMS panther lite 16..Since, I have added a Quad rail, scope, red dot, Magpul trigger guard to eliminate that irritating gap behind the trigger guard. I think the finish on the DPMS is second to none, the tefflon finish helps the appearance and resist scratching... I think I am really going to like this gun.... Oh and it is .223
