Bought an inexpensive AVIATOR holster for my model 10

Very nice work @Hillbilly Hydrographics šŸ˜

I have tried making holsters by hand. I have learned that a man must know his limitations. ;)
My holsters looked like something a 3rd grader might cobble together with construction paper. šŸ¤Ŗ
Thank you sir. I started working with leather in the scouts as a kid but really started making my own gear and stuff for friends and such when i got old enough to carry firearms. Then about 5 years ago when I had quit construction work to look after my aunt who raised me I started focusing on leather as a business cause I can do it from home while tending to my aunt. It's a true passion for me and I love building every piece. I tell people if it can be made from leather I'll make it. If it can't be made from leather just give me enough time to figure out how to make it from leather.

Bought one of those holsters off of Amazon, too. Believe mine was designed for a S&W Victory but I also wetted it to hold my SP 101 with 4.2" barrel. Fits well.
Yep, the one I bought was for the S&W Victory. Basically a model 10.
Itā€™s cool that it works for your Ruger.

i found a black SH that fits my victory md S&W and my S&W md10-5 round butt with 2" barrel at a flea market like new, but very stiff(soaking in mink oil loosened it up. us emblossed on the front and nordac mfg. corp. part no. 7142700. i like SH,s when riding one of my 4x4,s.

I went looking. Nordac went out of business in 1985.

Just an FYI if anyone is still looking at El Paso, I just got an email from them for a sale they are running until 31 OCT, 20% off with the code SPOOKY20.

I finally got a chance to use my new holster today carrying my model 10. I had worn it around the house but that really doesnā€™t count.
I went to the outdoor range to do some ammo testing and sighting in on my SFAR.
I wasnā€™t sure if I had it adjusted properly, but I put it on and fastened the loop onto my belt. It felt a bit odd, but in no time it was as if I always wore it.
Kneeling, crouching, sitting at the bench, firing my rifle and picking up brass the gun in the holster never got in the way or impeded what I was doing.
I must say I really like this holster.
I am seriously considering buying other tanker type holsters for a couple of my other guns.

SFAR please donā€™t say indoor range. I had a bunch of Gangbangers shooting their ā€œbattle riflesā€ next to me. my ear ran forever after.

Oh, heck no. This is an outdoor range sponsored by the state DNR using our hunting and fishing license moneys and generous land donations from private individuals and companies in WV.

I have been to indoor ranges that allow up to .300 Win Magā€¦in a 25 yard range.
Flippinā€™ Ridiculous!
Itā€™s bad enough indoors with 5.56/.223, but .30 cal rifles? Thatā€™s crazy.
I did belong to an indoor range for a short while here that had some excellent sound attenuation so smaller rifle rounds and large magnum handgun rounds seemed more like .357 magnum.

Here's a custom tanker rig I did for a good friend. I hand carved and tooled the US instead of embossing it like every other maker does. Completely handmade and hand sewn. Not handmade like most meaning my hand pushed it through a machine. Custom battle worn dye job. Extra mag pouch on chest strap and included a padded slider shoulder pad for more comfort. It has the straps so it can be used as a m3 style or later m7 style. First pic has my norinco holstered before shipping to friend.View attachment 1175177here's a pic my friend sent after receiving it with his ww2 1911setting in rig with a pair of matching US leather grip panels I made for him as well.
