I just bought a 2nd Generation G24C. I have a few questions.

1. My G24C is stamped "24" on the left side of the barrel. My gun clearly has the ported barrel. Shouldn't it say "24C" on the barrel? All the serial numbers match on the frame, slide and barrel.

2. My gun has the fixed sights. I thought all the LongSlide models have adjustable sights?

3. My gun has the regular issue slide release. I thought all the LongSlide models have the larger slide release?

4. My gun has a serial number of BNYxxx. Any idea when it was produced?

Light,
I can help you with one thing.
Your Glock has two manufacture dates given: 11/1995 and 10/1995.
It could be that one is for yours and the other is for the non-C gun!!!

Anything else, I'm not sure of!!

I bought a 23 that has 40 S&W instead of 40AUTO on the slide!! Go figure!!!

Mine has the ".40SW" stamp on the side of the slide. Also, I am sure mine is a C model as it definately has the ports, and 3.5 lb trigger.

The 24C I had was also a BNY dated gun. Had it dated to ca. 11/95 import.
2nd Gen 24's did not have an extended slide lever {or at least the two I had did not} and adj. OEM sights were a +cost option.

Fairly certain the slide was mk'd. "C" and ".40 SW".

Does your porting look like the progressive half-moon type, starting small and becoming larger towards the muzzle? Both the 24 & 24C had the same slide cut-outs so not out of the question someone may have had the original bbl. ported if it was a 24?

Yes, the porting on my gun seems original. It looks identical to the porting seen in all photos of the 24c. Also, the barrel shares the same serial number with the frame and slide.....

Pic of the porting on my Glock below:

"Shouldn't it say "24C" on the barrel?"

Then it's good that yours d/n have a "C" on the slide with all matching ser. #'s.

Probably worth a premium on the Collector's Market?
