I have a G24c (early model) that I rarely shoot. Why, because the ports face forward for the 24c unlike the sideways porting of the other Glocks.

Anyways, after less than a magazine full of ammo my front sight has turned pitch black from the ports blasting the front sight.

I don't have this problem with my G19c.

What can I do to keep the G24c front sight from turning black so quickly. A non-ported G24c barrel is out of the question.

Thanks

Not much you can do except try different ammo.

Personally I'm not crazy about the white dot, I could take it or leave it. A lot of competition shooters use plain black sights, in which case you would just have a handy automatic sight-blackener...
