I shot about 30 rounds of Federal ammo through my Glock 24C yesterday and when I got home to clean the gun, I noticed some grey residue or something on the right side on the lightening cut. It's only on one side and seems to not want to come off. Has anyone else had any experiences with this? If for some reason the exhaust from the ported barrel burned off the tenifer coating is there a way to fix this? Maybe I should just get a non-ported barrel. Thanks guys.

Also, the front sight was dirty as hell and I chipped the cheap white paint they use when trying to clean it. Any recommendations for aftermarket Glock sights?

Not sure about the grey coating on one of the cut-outs but I bet it's unlikely that you did anything to the tennifer. Just a guess but make sure it’s not stubborn residue with some clp or Hoppes etc.

The ported Glocks I have been around all "smoked" the front area of the gun including the front sight. I was all surface deposits only and usually wiped right off....sometimes a cleaner would be needed like clp or something but it was never permanent.

For front sights I really like Ameriglo sights. They have a wide assortment and combinations of sights.http://www.ameriglo.net/

I think I'll post pictures later if CLP doesn't take it off. What do you mean by smoked mongo? Just a coating of something?

With the C what you have found is normal. Front site for that, IMO, is the Trijs. I have a KKM 7" for mine, with a comp. and def. recommend it. Enjoy!
