I recently bought a Romanian SAR-1,with Tapco trigger. It shoots real accurate and is fun to shoot.Should I keep it or buy another Ak 47?

Why would you sell something you enjoy based upon our input?

I ran my SAR-1 through a 3 day Insights Defensive Rifle class back in 2003. It ran perfectly throughout the entire class. Roughly 1,000 rounds and not one jam or malfunction.

Run the heck out of it.
If you like the system you can always send it off to Rifle Dynamics or Red Jacket and have it upgraded.
They are addicitive, you end up with more than one. If you like tha basics of this one, spend a bit more on the next one and see the difference.
The AK in America tends to have a bad reputation, not because it isnt an accurate battle carbine. The reputation was ruined by surplus parts kits being put together (sometimes haphazardly) and sold on the American market.
You should be able to get 2 MOA with a quality AK and quality ammo; but you wont get it for the price of a SAR 1

Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.

Why were you thinking of selling this one?

I say keep it, you have a good AK; there is nothing wrong with an SAR1, I've owne done since just before they were banned from import in 2002. Mine is very accurate and 100% reliable. I have done a few modifications to mine over the years.

Here's a perspective from the other side. I sold mine 6 years ago. I regret it to this day.

Mine shoots like this at 200 yards with its slightly canted iron sights. :)

The three on the bottom were confirm zero, the group on top was from a cross legged sitting position at a steady cadence.
