Bought the new Taurus Curve

Glad to see a lack of knee jerk Taurus bashing. I've had worse luck with new Smith and Wesson's than Tauri.
I'm really interested in the curve, looks like a perfect summer gun.

Hi all- remember--- the reason I sent it back is in the pic... Extractor pin falling out. Could care less about barrel caliber imprint

My initial impressions (from 15 min w/gun)

- as advertised.. Easy to conceal and wear IWB RH
- was a point a shoot gun - didn't miss the real sights
- recoil was managaeable/non-existent
- operations of light/laser easy with right hand index finger... Pus forward on, push forward again off

I'd buy this gun again... Looking forward to carrying it once it proves it will cycle to my satisfaction with my SD ammo

I owned guns from 12+ manufacturers... Some have been been sent back for repairs, some have been perfect. **it happens and I simply get it fixed and move on

taurus, keltec, ruger, GSG, charter, remington, Mossberg, winchester, cmmg, Marlin, savage, hi-point, NAA, Uberti, CZ, CAI...

Most dealers won't buy or take in a trade a used gun without the caliber marked on the barrel. The liability issues are huge. I don't know if it's legal or not, but I'm sure if you loaded 9 X 18 or 9mm in that barrell and something bad happened Better Call Saul would be all over it. ;)

^ I kind of doubt that all that many dealers would ever think to look for a caliber designation on the barrel. Most would assume (rightly) that any barrel would be so marked. It's way down on the list of things I look for when buying a used gun.

Nothing would happen other than jamming up the pistol. Neither round will chamber enough to let the slide close. I doubt you could get a 9mm round into its magazine. The 9x18 might fit the mag but won't chamber, its too fat.

I've worked for a couple that have used gun buying checklists they use in training new employees, and no caliber marking on the barrel is a no-no.

Looks like a tazer gun that was left out in the sun too long.

Redstate, it looks like there is pretty much no stippling or texture on the sides of the grip. It didn't slip around in your hand at all?

I think it looks like the Kimber pepper spray gun. They were selling like hot cakes at my LGS though.

Fast turnaround for Taurus Curve

Received my repaired Taurus Curve back yesterday, April 19... Just 15 days after I dropped it in FedEx box on April 4 (using, off course, the Taurus supplied shipping label)

Extractor pin was replaced and barrel was imprinted with caliber. Free T-shirt coming in separate package!

Will head off to the range in next day or two to begin (again) giving this new gun a workout... I have lots of .380 ammo... Various types to try.

I sure hope this gun performs... Because it sure is comfy to carry (I put it on again to wear for a bit)

Will keep you posted!

Yeah...
I'd never buy a Taurus handgun.
My current inventory includes 9 brands of handguns, 6 different brands of long guns and 2 brands of shotguns

6 Taurus firearms overall... And no complaints overall

I've had to send in Sigs, Rugers, CMMG and EAA guns for repair... So sending one of my Taurus guns was no big deal.

From what I read they had their problems in the past... But my experience has been good overall

Well you have to give them credit for designing something totally new and interesting.... even if it is "barely pretty"

Rather than just another mock Glock or MIM 1911.

FWIW, I've had a Taurus 689 revolver for 20 years and it has been 100% reliable, and is a tack driver. I carry a third Gen PT-111 (previously had a 2nd gen PT-111) and they have both been 100% stone cold reliable.

17 rounds is pretty quick for a new taurus to crap out. I got you beat though, 4 rounds into a 6 round cylinder of a 617 before a complete lock up :neener:

Hope it gets taken care of quick and correct.

Looking forward to the 500-round range report.
That's asking a lot out of a taurus. now here comes the apologists to tell me how their 10 taurus pistols/revolvers all have at least 30k through them with no issues and no cleaning or maintenance required.....;)

Glad it got fixed...and jokes aside..... im looking forward to how it does long term as well.

Taurus Curve- second look

Ok folks-- it's not really a staple gun ;)

It eats all SD ammo with no problem and is a pleasure to carry IWB on the right hip. (Of course, when's the last time something curvy didn't feel good next to any of us ;) )

After a few hundred rounds to ensure this gun is reliable... (Which it has proven) It is now one of my favorite carry guns.

I have gotten used to the trigger and the point and shoot style of the cross-hairs on the slide

Love it or hate it... I'm a lover
