I have been looking around for some time for a small pistol. Read all the bad things about the Taurus Millenium series guns. I while back I had one in 9mm for a T&E and the pin kept breaking. If it wasn't for that it was shooting fine. Well I was up at KTP yesterday looking for a small 45. They had a couple of used Taurus guns, but I was leary of all the past problems.
I asked if they had a new one they said not in 45, just in 9mm and 40. I tried the 40 with the stainless slide and like it and bought it. I took a gamble but it's funny every time I buy a gun from this one female store clerk at KTP in Maine I have good luck with that gun. Anyway, I tried the gun today and was greatly impressed. It shot everything, feed everything, and was very accurate. The only problem was me getting use to the long trigger pull, which was not all that heavy. I put 250 rounds through that gun today without any problems. I was even double tapping at close range. The gun is not the pro series but I think that Taurus fixed their problems because this gun feeds very smooth and the trigger is not that heavy, long but not heavy. Anyway at this point in time, I am very pleased with this gun and I was expecting the worst.

Some of the Milleniums had problems (the older non Pro models) but you know now that youve made me think about it, the only problems I remember hearing abot with the Milleniums were with 9mm's not so much other calibers, I may be wrong but perhaps it was just a problem with the 9's, The trigger pull on the Pro series models is even nicer than the Mil's, I have a Mil Pro PT-145 and I love it, look around for one of these lil beauties as well, you wont be disappointed, I picked mine up for around 350$

And seeing as you went in looking for a .45 were you just not wanting to wait a few days for the shipment? or do they not normally make single orders for customers?.... Thats what I had to do for mine, I called the guy and he had none in stock, I asked if he could order one, he said sure, but they needed at least 1/3 down..... which was cool.... I went in the next day and just paid for the whole thing while I placed the order.

Anyway, good luck =) they are very nice weapons, the nice price tag is my favorite part :D

Kittery Trading Post in Maine is a big company and about a good hour ride from my house in NH. I like the 45 but the 40 will do. It is also slightly smaller which I liked. So far I expected the worst with all the complaints and my results so far were very good. The gun is not my Kimber lets not fool ourselves here but for a small double action in a heavy caliber it shot great. I didn't find the recoil bad at all. The serial number starts with SVI whatever that means, so Taurus must have put the new fixes, upgrades and trigger in the newer model non pro Milleniums. Ten shots of 40 S&W how can you go wrong, it shoots great and looks great to boot.

Thanks, ran the serial number states 2004 and if "I" is Sept. I would think it was built then. That's fairly recent for manufacturing, shipping then distribution. Thanks , maybe thats why it ran so well it has all the fixes in it.

yes, any prior problems with the millenium series seem to have been corrected in the millenium pro series, i have mostly heard nothing but good things. i plan on owning a millenium bro 45 acp one day for CCW.

I bought a late model PT-145 Non-Pro model last June and it's been excellent. It's my primary CCW. I picked up a PT-111 Mil Pro at the gun show last weekend for summer carry (it's lighter and thinner than the PT-145 and does hold 12+1, although it's really really tough to get that 12th rnd in, I suspect it will get better with use). It too was an excellent preformer on the initial 100rnd range test, no problems whatsoever. I did like the trigger on the PT-111 a little better, they seemed to have improved the trigger actions on the Mil Pro series, from what I and others have found.

I bought a PT145 Millenium Pro (.45ACP) last month at a gun show NIB for $305!! A friend has one and Igot a chance to shoot it and was impressed with it. For a 10+1 capacity and a double-stack may, it really isn't any wider than my 1911. Very light at 22ozs and the DA trigger is smooth but long, but shorter than my Ruger P89.

I'm in the middle of shooting 300 rounds of Remington Golden Saber 230gr JHP to see if it will burp. If not, it will become my carry pistol.
