I went to town to buy groceries this evening, there was this guy in line that stuck out like a sore thumb. Blue uniform, blue body armor, some kind of Ruger pistol in a tactical holster, but a lot of junk hung off his service belt. People were avoiding him. On his back was white lettering that said "Bail Agent".
Suddenly being behind him, I mentioned that it was bad form for him to be in the store that armed buying groceries. He said back he had to be ready for anything. I said that was great, but 4 people near him have their permits and were armed. He made some not so nice comment and I said that I was guy number 5 with a gun, that he should quietly leave and not be a show off when he was not in pursuit of some bail jumpers.
I see the need for this profession, but not to the point of looking like Homeland Security when they are on a terrorist hunt in the woods, especially when they are taking a break.
O.K. here is one detail that maybe I should have mentioned up front, he was buying a 12 pack of Bud Light. He did leave, he got in to a older Chevy Blazer and left. Bad form, guns and beer.
