anybody have any good hog stories? Im intrseted in what people have to say. im looking for a good bow hunt. hogs sound like fun. Im intrested in your opinions.

Hunted hogs in Georgia with bow for about 4 years. Fun as hell is all I can say. I have only been chased up a tree 1 time though. Had a friend shoot a big boar from a tree stand and it pissed the hog off. The hog tried to get up to him cause he smelled him and seen movement. The fellah shot the hog 3 more times before it quit.

Pick a broadhead thats cut on impact and not a chisel tip. I noticed better penetration with the cut on impact broadheads.

Well guys, you'll probably think I fell out of my tree. But, earlier this week I bought a new string for an old fiberglass Pearson recurve bow that I used as a kid (to shoot, among other things, alley cats.)

There is some "archery only" hunting for feral hog between now and August 31 up on some public land around Lake Ray Roberts. Since many times our excursions on other public lands wind up just being long pleasant walks in the woods, I plan to get tuned up with the old Pearson and some new broadheads and carry it when we go up to scout/hunt Ray Roberts.

After the guy at the archery shop got me fixed up, I had him check the draw weight on the old recurve. "About 20 pounds." Yea, I may be getting older, but am still pretty fast. And got a good pair of tree-climbing boots. ;)

I went to the PSE plant last week and drooled over some recurves. I wish there were more lefty recurves out in the marked.

Maybe one day I'll get one and some cedar arrows and have at it.
