Can somebody explain how the BPS was designed? Or forward a link that explains? Besides bottom ejection, it has nothing in common with the Ithaca 37. What about the 870 action? Is the BPS action good? Also, has the rattling forend been fixed?
Based on watching my buddy for many seasons I would say the BPS is a good action. Never seen it malfunction. I have heard it go click a few times when he forgot to reload it all the way. I have shot it a few times, and it shoots okay, but I am used to a different brand. The only time I ever noticed the forend rattle was when the dog knocked it out of the gun notch and the barrel fell about 8" into the corner. It doesn't seem to rattle when he snatches it up to shoot a duck.
