Brady org: Armalite ready to serve America's extreme psychotics

NPR had a story on this morning where in they interviewed Armalite & Bradys PR dood

There's one particular line from a Brady induhvidual I really like:

"High-capacity magazines holding more than ten rounds will flood the market, turning ordinary semiautomatic assault pistols into high-firepower killing machines."

Those five extra rounds make all the difference!!!

The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence today sent the following letter to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives about ArmaLite, Inc., a company contemptibly catering to those who are desperate for extraordinary firepower.

SHAAD-UP!

The other ten percent will be standing in line at their local gunshops, still hung over from staying up to watch the ball drop the night before.
That is funny!

The saying, sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me". It is absolutely right. Just in case if I ever meet Mr. Dennis A. Henigan in person I will attempt to put a testicle out each ear with with a well placed Justin. Of course the fact that he doesn't have any will make the task harder.

Anyone up for sending some worn-out pre-ban mags to the Brady Center with a friendly note in a greeting card?

I would, but I don't have any. :(

I heard the NPR show this morning

and almost ran off the road:D The wife had to do the "now-now-dear arm pat" (tm) to keep my head from exploding.

One interesting part was the "assault pistol" comment, because as we have seen reported here at THR, the MMM crowd has sent letters to law makers describing, and the expanded AWB labels, ALL semi-auto magazine-fed handguns as "military-style assault pistols."

Hey, anybody want to stay up, and shoot off some fireworks when it expires? If enough of us do, that could by itself be a pretty pointed message to politicians...

That's very close to defamatory. The only missing piece is ID'ing the individuals making the orders with some specificity. But I expect Armalite keeps that under wraps. It's one thing to call Charlton Heston a "psycho" it's another to call some citizen who is not a public figure a "psycho" in the national media. The first case may be protected, the second is most certainly not.

So a US infantryman carrying an M-16 is a proud soldier serving his country, a LEO with an M-16 in the trunk of his or her squad car is a proud public servant serving his or her community, but a law abiding US citizen who wishes to own a semi-auto version of that same rifle is suddenly an "extreme psychotic?"

Well said!

Was that the Brady guy or was it Don from Don's Guns? I thought it was Don, but either way the guy needs to be run out of business. What are gun owners doing still buying from his store? He said he put a big sign up congratulating the ban when it was first passed.

I heard this this morning and intended to write to them as soon as I got home.

The assault pistol thing was pretty bad, but Don the merchant of death needs to go. I don't know how someone so stupid can stay in business.

Don from Don's Guns makes me both sad and happy.

Sad in that he's a Hoosier like I am. :(
Happy in that he's up in Indianapolis instead of down here in the sane part of the state. :neener:

Don-I-don't-sell-evil-guns-I-sell-fluffy-bunnys-that-look-like-guns-Davis sells machine guns and silencers.

Semiautomatic assault weapons in knockdown (disassembled) condition consisting of a receiver and all parts needed to assemble a complete semiautomatic assault weapon are subject to regulation if the parts are segregated or packaged together and held by a person as the parts for the assembly of a particular firearm.

So ordering the flash suppressers and lugs, and storing them in bins and boxes in the warehouse is perfectly legal, as any one lug or suppressor is not designated for any particular firearm.
:neener:

Don the merchant of death needs to go.

You mean that nut is still around? Sheesh, he was there when I was a student at Purdue, and I'm 37 now. I remember he had a Mothers' Day commercial where he indicated that an Uzi would be the ideal present for Mom.

Back when they started they sounded sane, reasonable, moderate, thoughtful ... now they sound like some disheveled schizophrenic that stands out on the corner yelling about the coming alien invasion.
..their creativity in thinking would amaze even the brightest of the bunch, theyre a legend in their own minds.

:D

>>I think the primary danger in the AWB sunsetting is that the anti-gun leftist extremists know when it sunsets and nothing extraordinary happens -- blood isn't running in the streets, 'bullet hoses' aren't being sold on every street corner -- the Bradys and VPCs of the world will look like the hysterical fools they really are.

>>This will damage their credibility on the entire gun control issue.

Prior to April 8th, 2004, in OH, the misled mommies (in particular, one named Toby Hoover) made the same blood in the streets predictions for OH's new CHL (effective that date).

Her latest statement is that with only 26,000 CHL's in OH after six months, it's a non-issue....

I wonder what she's smoking....

These clowns have no legal argument or base. Their claims are just hot air to fluff the feathers of the BATF....who would love to enforce this, but knows they cannot and will just ignore the BradyBunch.

For Armalite to be engaged in illegal activity, there would have to be an exchange. Money for post-ban rifle configured with illegal pre ban features.

Accepting money is not a transfer. It is 1/2. Delivery of the rifle and possession will occur after the ban.

I really wonder if the BATF thinks that the BradyCamp is retarded? You would think Armalite has a few attorney's that advised them accordingly on this matter....

I also wouldn't be surprised if Armalite has a nice letter their attorney obtained from the BATF stating the Bureau's position on the issue. I'm sure Armalite deals with these folks on a fairly regular basis.

the more i read up on the brady whiners, the more i realize just how important oxygen is to a persons mental capacity.

and its not just things like this, ever notice how their math is always screwy? another of their press releases said that 'senators would have HUNDREDS of messages from constitutents urging the renewal of the AWB'.

gee, HUNDREDS of them? what about us thousands that urge for the death of the AWB??

and yesterday, i found some article about Ohio trying to permanently enact the AWB, and they had '1,500 signatures', that somehow was translated into "the majority" or the public.

some of us say that we are our own worst enemy, but come on!

Ah yes, Don of Don's Guns. Proving once again that Lenin's concept of the useful idiot is still applicable in the modern world.

I went in there once. Every single gun was at least MSRP+
