Here in OH, we have a LAW that says carrying in the Post Office is a Felony....
It's not a state law it's a federal law, prosecuted in federal court, not common pleas. (Big difference), It also has a different set of sentencing guidelines.

What funny is that in rural areas people pull into the post office parking lot with deer rifles in the rack and I have seen hunters go in with a gun on their hip and no one crapped a brick over it. But after reading this thread I will keep it locked in the lockbox and out of site.

There are only 12 (I believe) banks that are federal buildings, those are the Federal Reserve Banks. They are in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Richmond, Atalanta, Chicago, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Dallas, and San Francisco. Your local bank is not property owned by the Federal government, nor is it staffed with employees of the Federal government.

Federal Reserve Bank buildings are not technically federal buildings since the Federal Reserve Banks are federally chartered, non-profit, stock corporations. Employees of the Federal Reserve Banks are not employees of the federal government.

The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System is a government agency and its building in Washington, DC, is a federal building. The employees of the Board of Governors are federal employees.

Does this also mean that when I go to the Farmers Co-op and buy fertilizer for my farm, that I can't have it in the back of my truck when I stop at the post office ?

If it is a real post office, with a parking lot for the exclusive use of the post office, then that is correct, you cannot legally store a firearm anywhere on the post office property which includes your vehicle while it is on post office property.

Does not concealed mean out of site? I really have never thought of it being wrong to go into a post office while CC. I have never thought twice. I go in, conduct business and leave. I have done this for ever.

There are 5 govement agencys you don't mess with...
