An OCD friend bought a near perfect early Ruger 10/22 at a pawn shop.
Only problem with it is, the brass?, or white? front sight bead is missing.
I hooked him up with a new sight from Ruger for $5.95.
But Noooooo!
He wants to keep it all orginal, and won't hear of replacing the sight, or even driving the old one out to repair it.
So?
I made these 1/16" front sight beads for my needy buddies 10/22 front sight this afternoon.
One is brass (gold) and one is stainless steel (silver).
Just need to fit one or the other, after he approves, to the pin hole in his sight, while on the gun, then cut to length on both ends and finish the big end.
They will be getting Seriously Small at that point!!!
Pretty sure I will lose it in the black hole in the basement before I get done, and have to start over!!
PS: Turning S/S rod to the size of a sewing pin in a lathe is seriously hard to do, if you've never tried it!!!
You definitely may need to tune up your tool post first!!
