I have a 10lb fishing magnet that works well for fishing them out of batches of cases.
Walkalongs magnetron magnet out of a microwave would work good to. They are pretty powerful. We save them at work for various things.
We use ultraviolet curing ink in the coloring dept. Go through lots of magnetrons.

That's my only real big one (6"?), but I have lots of the smaller ones (2 1/2" & 3"?) out of microwaves, I get them out every time one at work craps out. Lots of them in the system.

Almost everyone anymore has an old dead computer laying around.....or can find one. Take the hard drive apart and you will find a VERY strong magnet. Great for finding that brass washed steel.

So I was digging through the shed looking for an old defunct computer that I know is out there when i ran across a tool retrieval magnet that I had forgotten years ago. Ran it thru several thousand 9mm but no steel ones yet.
