I have remington, hornady, usa, prefecta and fc brass.

im new to reloading so I primed 100 hornady cases the other night but just got 100 new Remington cases to prime 100 more to have on hand and something to do.

is there a big difference in these different brass makers that I should watch with charges?

I was thinking of pitching the usa and perfecta because its off brand brass but want to stock pile plinking ammo.

whats your thoughts?

What caliber.??

If it's brass I load it:) Other than A merc but I never see it anymore.

It's all good pretty much, no need to toss it. Some folks have preferences for anecdotal reasons.

Perfecta is Fiocchi or could be Tula or could be who knows anymore, just check with a magnet to see if it is steel and not brass.

I usually check through a few samples of each and measure how much water they hold. Once I know they are close or not, then I work up my loads accordingly.

I usually use the off brand stuff for range use or in areas I know there is a very good chance I won't be getting it back in while hunting. These loads are usually mid range loads so I don't have to worry about anything other than putting the bullet where I want it to go.

I keep the name brand stuff for the better load development where I might want the upper end load or velocity and using it where I will be pretty assured of getting it back.

Perfecta isn't an off-brand. It is simply a house brand produced by a major ammunition manufacturer.

I don't know about their .223, but seem to remember reading that their 9mm was manufactured by S&B

whoever makes it their ammo sucks!

I put 50rd through my savage and was getting baseball sized groups at 100yards, switched to v max at the same time to make sure it was just the ammo and v max touched holes.

Not enough difference to make much difference to accuracy.
"...their ammo sucks!..." Nope. It just means your rifle doesn't like it. That's why if you don't reload, you have to try a box of as many brands as you can to find the ammo it does shoot well.
And a V-Max isn't ammo. It's a varmint bullet. The Perfecta stuff uses a Sierra Match King. Your Axis will likely prefer a heavier bullet. And you need to work up the load.

Perfecta from Wal-Mart that's $19.00 for 50rds uses match king bullets?

Okay to be politically correct a hornady v-max cartridge is what I switched too, lol.

I used that Wal-Mart perfecta in both rifles and it looked like an AR spray and pray.

using factory v max cartridges I can shoot out the shoot n c covers.

You can sort your cases by head stamp and weigh them if you are chasing accuracy. I don't load for 223, but Federal 308 Match cases seem to be a little softer in their match brass. Its no big thing, but when I load to near max, they don't seem to last quite as long due to the primer pocket opening up a bit sooner.

If I have their cases, I will reload them all the same, just watching for the usual.
