Breech plug siezing

New to muzzleloading. Shot my rifle and plug was extremely tight when I cleaned it. Can you use never sieze on the plug or do they make something special for this problem??

I use some Gorilla Grease it is purple and smells great. But use a small amount on the treads cuz it can become a glue if you use to much. Just put enough to cover the tops of the treads.

I use never sieze. Also don't "over tighten" the breech plug. It will come out a lot easier next time.

Knight also makes breech plug grease, and even bore butter is better than using nothing.

Tight Plug

The key is to just tighten the plug very "snug", and just enough anti-sieze to cover the threads, as these gentlemen mentioned...Often, if I'm going to shoot more than 25 shots, I'll remove the plug at the range, clean and reinstall to make removal easier...

Go to an auto parts store and get some never seize. A tube will last a long time.
