Thanks Technosavant!

One of the mags that came with my pistol (the one that works well) does have the holes, and the other doesn't. I will look around Brownells. I hadn't even payed attention to that fact.

Muchas gracias-

For reliabiity I'd like to convert a few of my 8-rounders to 7-round. Can anyone tell me where I can buy the flat, dimpled followers? All I've been able to find is complete magazines or conversions to 8-rounds. Thanks!

Sport, I did this to ALL of my 1911 mags. I bought the followers from MetalForm. look here: https://www.metalformmagazines.com/Magazine.asp?RID=9

The ones I got were F-FLT-S (Follower, Flat, Stainless) But the F-FLT-C (carbon steel) ones are cheaper. IIRC, when I ordered mine, they had to contact me to verify what type of magazines they would be used in. I told them: 45acp, 7-round, standard 1911 type magazines. You should probably put this in the 'special instructions' block on the order form.

I hope this helps.

Do like I did! I bought 40 to get the price break but I only needed about 20.
Tuner told me he would take some(which he did) and I had a few left over.
Another guy read about me getting them and asked if I had any to spare,
sold him the rest for my costs + postage

Factory Magazines

Hi there,

I've been down this road before with the magazine issue.

I just bought a NIB Springfield Champion that came with the loaded coupon book, i.e. the book from the manufacturer that offers as much "at cost stuff" from the factory for new buyers. Forget the T-shirts and hats! I plan on buying as many factory magazines as I can afford. 7 round blue magazines are only $9.00/each.

They break or wear out and I will just send them back!.

I've tried other brands before. Wilson's are great. CMC magazines I won't use. I had one come apart on me at a range match one night. I slammed the basebad to load the magazine with my hand and the floor plate fell off with the mag tube sticking up through the ejection port, spring and .45 rounds at my feet.
