I have been kicking around an idea for a while now and would like to solicit some feedback from other members.

It really bugs me that all gun rights have been stripped from our brothers over the pond. I have the assumption that some of them might look at us with envy that we can own almost any firearm we want and go down to a local range and have a day of shooting sports fun.

My idea is to arrange a get together that we host a group of Britons ( this can easily be expanded to include any gun restricted country) for a multi-day shoot here on U.S soil. Here is how I see it:

1) We find a host venue. The venue should have: pistol ranges, rifle ranges and hopefully some trap/skeet or sporting clays.

2) Have camping facilities onsite or nearby. Maybe also a collection of hotels.

3) Be within driving distance of a major international airport.

4) Shoot all day with our guests, fire up the BBQ after the sun goes down and have a party/reception each night.

5) Set up a site in which a potential attendee who has always wanted to shoot an AR-15 for example, could post this request and an American host could reply that he will have one for him/her to shoot.

6) Have friendly competitions of various disciplines.

We could do this over a 3-4 day period and it might be fun. We could ask for sponsors, alert local and national media. For all I know this has already been done and I am just out there.

What do you guys think? Anyone want to do this? Feel free to add, subtract, suggest or tell me I am an idiot. I have thick skin so feel free.

the British Alpine Rifle club has the Spring meeting sometime around May in Switzerland if i remember correctly.

you could also contact those guys, i am sure they would love to help and organise it and have ways to directly contacting intrested people in britan.
