Yesterday was a good day here in this part of Arizona, it took a long time and much work remains to be done, but the range is now open. Family membership is only $25.00 per year, it is great to live in a state which is willing to expend the work and funds to further encourage the shooting sports for it’s citizens.

Wife and I especially like the convenience of it, as it along the way when we go into Bullhead City for shopping, doctor appointments and etc.. We can take along a firearm and get in an hour or so of shooting without the hassle of setting up in the desert near home.

Governor Brewer flew in for the dedication of the Tri State Shooting Park

Tri-State Shooting Park Dedication
March 13, 2013

New shooting range serving Bullhead City/Fort Mohave area

The Tri-State Shooting Park dedication at 11 a.m. on March 13, 2013, brings new opportunity to the Bullhead City and Fort Mohave region. A 200-yard pistol and rifle range, a 50-yard pistol range, along with a trap and skeet range promises to draw many outdoor enthusiasts to this new shooting venue.

An Honor Guard Presentation of Colors, remarks by Gov. Jan Brewer and other guests, and a ceremonial “ribbon-shooting” instead of the traditional ribbon-cutting are the top features of the dedication. The event is hosted by the Arizona Game and Fish Commission, Arizona Game and Fish Department, and Tri-State Shooting Park, Inc. The public is welcome and the event is free.

Tri-State Shooting Park is open to the public, although operations are limited. The facility will support hunter education programs, promote safe hunting and shooting practices, and provide a well-controlled shooting area. Hunters will have a place to become more proficient with their equipment. Law enforcement agencies will have access to the range where they can maintain their firearms qualifications. Tri-State Shooting Park will offer education, training and enjoyment of shooting sports for a community that has been without a range for more than a dozen years.

The dedication of Tri-State Shooting Park marks the culmination of long-term efforts by the Arizona Game and Fish Commission, Department, Tri-State Shooting Park, Inc., in cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management and other stakeholders, to establish a public shooting range to serve the Bullhead City and Mohave Valley area.

Brewer has turned out to be a much better Governor than most people thought she was capable of.

Too bad she cant get reelected.

Arizona and ranges

At one time during my career I was stationed in Arizona and was able to shoot at the Rio Salado Sportsman club East of Mesa, the Black Canyon Range that was North of Phoenix ( I believe it has been renamed since then) and I used to shoot IPSC at the Papago military reservation....Arizonians are fortunate to have some good facilities and the new one mentioned in the above post will be well received I am sure. And Gov. Brewer is top notch IMO.
