Hi guys, I'm in the porcess of getting a Browning A-5 and was wondering if anyone could give me a clue as to the potential problems I may face. Its has a few problems right off the bat:
Cracked Forearm (Stem to stern crack, along the bottom)
Cracked and repaired Buttstock (Right at the hand grip)
But there are a few good things:
The barrel looks to be in great condition, very clean, and the auto chambering mechinism works flawlessly. Oh and the engraving is in good shape but needs to be cleaned, any ideas on what to clean it with?
The serial number is 8V 44XX, and I'm also looking for any info on the year it may have been made in. I've been told that browning reused the 8 in two years, 58 and 68, so I'm confused. And one last thing, can anyone give me an idea as to what the value may be?? I'm getting this in trade for services rendered and I want to know if I'm being taken.
