Browning BAR questions

Looking at a couple different ones, a 308 and 3006, but both are different than the ones I can find, maybe older? The release for the bolt is on the bottom of the mag on the left side. Anyone have any info? Trying to figure out what they are worth.

Mine is a 1993 Grade II Safari and the bolt release is a lever on the lower right front of the receiver. It's one heck of a rifle in 270 Win.

I recently saw a group of what appeared to be much older BAR and the bolt release was not in the same place.

The older ones don't have a bolt hold open device, so they don't have a bolt release either. On the old guns, the bolt just stops rearward when it hangs up on the magazine follower. The older guns also have a different non-adjustable gas block.

Maybe thats what it was, the mag follower lever, I know nothing on these, is the mag removable on the older ones? What would they be worth?
