I just bougth a Browning BDA 380...I know that this is the same gun as the Beretta 84...I have not pick it up yet and basically bougth it on a whim...I do love Brownings...I know that it is DA/SA and not like my BHP...but still I like the looks of it...I would like to hear from you guys that have experience with this little piece and please lets not get into a discussion on the value of the .380 round...I just want to know the the good the bad on the weapon

I have a BDA .380 and bought it simply because I loved the way it looked and felt in my hand. It is a great shooter and a lot of fun although it hasn't seen a lot of use despite the fact that I've owned it for nearly 15 years.

I have a Beretta 84.

Things I like;
Trigger is very smooth while slightly heavy.:)

Military tough, chromed barrel, feeds all ammo, never fails.:scrutiny:

Quick take down, very simple::cool:

Accurate, not the best, but good.;)

Great ergomomics.

Light weight, weighs the same as a Bersa, but is "twice the gun"...go figure.:rolleyes:

Things I mildly don't like;
A little on the big side for concealed carry.:(

Sometimes is finicky about going back together.:banghead:

That's about it. One of my favorite guns:D

I've had mine for a year now and have shot several hundred rounds through the little begger. Feels nice in my hand and I can shoot it quite well. I used it exclusively for our tactical matches for several weeks until I got my first 1911. It's a nice shooter that does have a few quirks. I got a nasty hammer bite from it by not having my support in the proper position. :rolleyes: The backstrap area also seems to "bite" the thumb-index finger web. Not sure if this is because the metal here has sharp edges, but it does irritate a little. For the most part it's a good gun, easy to shoot and conceal. My wife, on the other hand, does not enjoy shooting it one bit.

I have a nickel one I bought in the 80's. You're right, it looks great, feels great, smells great and all that great kinda great stuff, just can't hit the broad side of a barn with it. Well maybe a little. Did I mention it looks great and feels great? It hates Hornady HP's though, not like it makes a difference sitting in the safe looking all great and everything.

I have one but I'm about to trade it for another handgun. I felt the BDA was too fat to comfortably carry, and the accuracy was not good. It was very reliable and easy to clean though.

Accurate, reliable, and easy to clean and carry. What more can ask for out of an 84F (the clone of the BDA 380).

I always viewed it as a toss up of being shot 14 times with a 380 or 9 times with a 9mm in the same form factor. Today that is less true, but since I still have the 84F why one change.

Its a great little gun and exceptionally reliable.

... I always figured that a person would be better armed with the more rounds of .380 but I still feel more comfortable carry the 9mm.

Congrat's Karate My Friend-

Greeting's All-

There is no need to question this weapons worthiness~!;) These
are wonderful .380 auto's, made by Beretta for Browning. I've
never experienced the proud ownership of a Browning BDA 380;
but I have handled (and sold) a lot of 'em. Its a quality piece in
every respect, and quite frankly sells well in my locale. If there
is a drawback in design, it would be the teeny-tiny sights of
this weapon; making them extremely hard too see on the guns
that are nickel plated~!:uhoh: :D

I seem to be having a problem finding a holster for little piece...I had planned on having a holster ready for it when I picked it up...any suggestions

Their a great pistol I like 380 and think this pistol Ideal nightstand gun firepower, low recoil, and flash 380 Corbon will get job done. Try Dom Hume Holsters for leather.

Bought my BDA from a pawnshop in Dallas a couple of months ago. I even bought a set of Pachmayr grips so it would match my HP.

Without a doubt my favorite pistol at the range. The only complaint I have is the price of .380 ammo compared to 9mm.

My first trip to the range was great! Not one FTF/FTE/etc. It shot where I pointed it.

And to top off the day, the guy shooting next to me gave me a 100 round box of WW whitebox that he had in his car trunk. He had sold his 380 a while back.

One warning- those little medallions on the grips seem to fall off. Several BDA's on gunbroker, etc have had one or both medallions missing.

Not one of my most expensive guns but probably my favorite! It has never jammed and I shoot it great! Love the way it looks too!!

Have a 84 & 85 and after a few cases of hp ammo I started to get jams on my 84 (the 85 has only had 100 + rounds thru it). Upon inspection I found that the feed ramp got gouged by the hp ammo. Moral of the story- russian silver bear will eat up this pistol. It still feeds ball perfect.
