Browning BLR takedown pistol grip

Very serious about getting one of these, just have to sell off some other "unused" used guns.

Heart is set on a 270 wsm, pistol grip; just don't know if the take-down feature is desirable or hinders performance.

I know I want a BLR , any info helping my decision would be helpful.

Realized I wanted the BLR when I was getting scope bases for a SIG SHR970 (same bases for both).

I did NOT like how the magazine rattled around in the sample at the gun shop the other day, but that rifle was a straight stock, I am looking to purchase a pistol grip model.

Again, any input would be very helpful.

Haven't used the "take-down" version but have used the straight-stocked BLR (bought one for my son in .243) is one fine rifle.

I have three plain old vanilla BLRs, and the magazines don't rattle; the takedowns use the same mags as mine. Only one of mine has been fired, and its practical accuracy and handling are superb. Groups from a bench? We will see, someday.

Heard something about ability to change barrels

There was an article in a gun magazine in the past year or so about this. I don't remember which one. I've also come across some information about getting different barrels/calibers. Put the scout scope mount on it and have a zeroed scope/barrel combo in different calibers sounds pretty good to me. I'm interested in it because I have a left handed son and want his first centerfire rifle to be remarkable and leave a lasting impression. I endeavor to get a 30.06 and get a 6.5x55 or a 6.5.06 barrel for him to start with then have the ability to go the 30.06 when he able to handle more recoil.
The magazine was probably guns and ammo or american rifleman.
