Does anyone out there own a Browning Pump Shotgun and how do you like it?You never see and read very much about this shotgun.

I was not to crazy about they way mine patterned when I first got it but I bought a new barrel(they are backbored) with the vector + choke tubes and it services me just fine.

Thanks
Paul

They're not that common but I know a few owners that are quite happy with them.
More of a field and waterfowler than a clays gun.

The wife has one that she calls her "pretty" gun. It's never failed and swings quick. That bottom eject is kinda strange to get used to. I do think (getting ready to duck here) that they are better handling than an 870.

I have had a couple of them. Good shotguns no doubt. Don't take it apart though, they are miserable to put back together. It can be pretty frustrating, but it will just fall together when everything is just perfect!!

Well made---just too much of a stretch for me to work the pumper----even the Micro model-------so I don't own one.

I've got a 10 gauge BPS that I've had for years and just use for waterfowling. Never had a failure with it and it's a great gun for that specific purpose. Would also like make a good turkey gun. However, I owned briefly a 12 gauge BPS that I just could not shoot well. It was a nice gun but just too frustrating and I sold it after about three months.

Paul: Being a big Ithaca fan (same layout) I can tell you that one problem might crop up. If you intend to shoot the gun for Sporting Clays, Trap, or Skeet, loading is more complicated and what I'd call awkward. Best procedure I've found is to flip the gun over and withdraw the action bar enough so that you can drop a fresh round into the chamber then wait till it's your turn with the gun so oriented. When it's my turn, I rack the round into the chamber and flip the gun over. After the shot, I empty the chamber and flip the gun over again to repeat the procedure. Remingtons are much easier to operate in this situation. You just drop a round in the ejection port and go to town.
