Well, while I realize that there is no such thing as an all-inclusive do-everything shotgun, there is a gun that I desire and have made a commitment to purchase.

It's the Browning Gold Fusion 28".

I am selling a couple of cherished firearms in order to finance this without any outside funds, the result of having lightning strike our home and the expenses needed to do repairs. (That's what I get for deciding on a $1,000 deductible :banghead: ) . Plus our summer vacation and back-to-school back-breaking costs were sizeable.

So I am soon going to take delivery of this brand new gun and I wanted y'all to know that I am grateful for all your previous posts about this 'pretty decent' shotgun.

With my growing age (47) I am still okay with pumps for light loads, but am looking to move away from the pumps in order to hunt more comfortably.

Some of you might sniff at only spending $800 for a decent shotgun, but that is my limit right now. Yet I believe that it will be a firearm that I can shoot and enjoy for the rest of my life. And also be proud to own one.

Thanks for listening...

I haven't spent $800 on any one gun. Or two, for that matter.

I played with a Fusion today and thought it was slick as owl youknowwhat.

HAve fun with your new toy.

I've owned maybe 40 guns over the last 40 years, I doubt any of them cost $800.

The Gold is a fine shotgun. Enjoy....

Okay, Okay....

I have wrestled with the cost thing quite a bit. I guess it was the rebate they are offering that is making me pull the trigger now. But I'm doing so at a sacrifice of two other guns I would really like to keep.

I've never paid quite that much for a gun either, but I realize that my bolt rifles and scopes ran almost that much. So can a quality AR-15.

So here goes!

The good thing about clay targets and feathered game is that they have absolutely no idea how much your gun cost. They only know if the pellets hit the mark.

The Browning auto along with their Beretta competitors are about as close as you'll get to an all-round target and hunting gun.

I'll confess to spending well over $800 on a shotgun. Well over. But there isn't much that I can do with the high price guns that I can't do with my semi-auto. Enjoy the gun. It's a good 'un.

Gun-Tests magazine even gave the Browning a slight nod over the Beretta semi-auto. Easier to clean IIRC.

A fine hunk 'o hardware - congrats!
