I own 2 of the BHP's in .40. Originally we got the first one for my wife. She has tiny midget hands but the BHP works well for her, grip wise.
The BHP .40 is AWESOME. It is one of the best made .40's out there and the first gun that was really properly engineered for the .40 as opposed to just shoehorning a larger engine into an existing chassis with minimal or no mods.
The BHP has a different heavier slide (3oz, almost a 1/4 pound more weight in the slide). It also has a heavier springs. This gun is well engineered for the round.
It is accurate too.
If you like the BHP and you like the .40 it is a great way to go.
My wife's main pistols are .40 cal because she only has a few guns and they need to be multi-purpose and able to deal with 4 legged threats.
My pistols were either 10mm for 4 legged threats or 9mm for 2 legged.
So, I prefer the 9mm and I like the Mec-gar 15rd flush fit mags for the BHP in 9mm.
But, if you do like .40, the BHP in .40 is pretty fantastic.
