How are older Browning High Powered Safari (made in Belgium) models regarded for accuracy?
Assume no salt wood stock problem.
Stumbled across one in 30-06, and I am not really familiar with them. Serial number is 5L298**, which I find confusing. Looks nice, but I would want to see the underside, I have a saltwood T-2, purchased new, learned the hard way.
Thanks, Ed

Ed, I've always found that the '60's era rifles shot very well. Not up to varmint barrel standards, but darn well. Ammo made today shoots much better than ammo from those days. Buddy of mine has/had a Browning Safari that shot very well, though it was a .458.

I'd concur with BrocLuno, we have 3 of them in my extended family, one in 30-06 and 2 in .270 Win., they are considered family heirlooms.
