I just picked up a Superposed 2 Barrel Set today and hoped some of you could let me know if I got ripped or not. Also, if you could tell me a bit about the gun, it would be great!!

12 Gauge 30 Inch Vent Rib S/N 34X
12 Gauge Skeet Barrel 26 Inch S/N 29XX
Made I think in 1931
2 barrel set.
Blue 98% +
Wood 95% +
Bores Very good +
Extremely tight and does not appear to be shot much at all
Decelerator Butt Pad, No Box
I paid with tax, etc. $2,750.00

I haven't decided if it will be a shooter or just a safe gun.....I'd appreciate any help.... Duck

I never saw a 30" skeet barrelled Superposed. I am not a great big fan of the Superposed before the war. I much prefer the middle 50's until middle 60's Superposed lightnings.although the machine work is gorgeous. However your gun appears, from the small thumbnail like a higher grade gun in very nice shape. No reason not to shoot a 12ga one as it should have 2 3/4" chambers, just don't use steel shot or magnum loads. You might find the internia weight mechanismisms sticking, as these guns need careful fresh cleaning and lubeing by somebody that knows what they are doing!

The 30" barrel set is probably tightly choked for trap. Oft 2 barrel sets of the period had one set for trap and the other for skeet. This seems to conform.

The Decellerator is not original. My guess is this has seen some use. Small matter, Supers last like 870s.

Do have someone that knows how take the action apart for a clean/lube.

Best guess,$3K-3500 around here, more with great wood and brass chicken inlays.

Enjoy....
