That's worth it in my opinion. I have a few different ones. The longest barrel I have is a 30" full vent rib that I use for turkeys. I didn't realize they made barrels as long as yours though.

That 34 inch barrel alone sometimes sells for as much as 400 bucks....I sold mine for $250 a couple years back.

Looks like you did very well. Never understood a scope on a shotgun though. Shotgunners i know do not even see the barrel when they shoot.
I would be proud to own your shotgun.

alot of turkey hunters here use scopes and red dots on their shotguns for spring turkey season when only gobblers are legal then. and at the local card shooting matches, cards are a 6 inch square with a line drawn from corner to corner forming a X and the BB closest to the center wins and are shot off hand at 27 yrds. i think some deer hunters use scoped shotguns in the residential areas. eastbank.

Actually the scopes with the slug barrels are really common here for deer, and very accurate. In the woods during deer season, it's unusal to see a 870 without a scope.

1992 and you pretty much get to break it in gotta love that.

For hunting Whitetail on public land, I have a 26", cantilevered, rifled barrel for my 870. Scoped I'm comfortable inside 130 yards, 50-75 is ideal IMHO.

One of the fellows in our hunt club uses a 20ga 870 in the same configuration and has taken Whitetail out to 150yards.

Hope you enjoy the new 34" as well as the 870.
