Buckmark rifles, anyone have one?

Do any of you have a Buckmark rifle, what do you think of it?
What kind of reliability and accuracy did you have?

I’ve looked online and haven’t been able to find any info on the bull barrel version, the “sporter” seems to get 1.5 inch groups.

I have owned a Sporter for about 7 years.It is a very good rifle and functions perfectly. I shoot mainly the Federal Bulk 22's. I can get under a 1 1/2 inch group at 25 yards if I do my part. The rifle has the dayglow sights. I recommend this rifle. Byron

I have a bull barrel version, bought maybe 3-4 years ago, and it has functioned flawlessly. Excellent balance and just feel right when shouldered. I would like to get a tapered barrel with open sights but they are somewhat pricey.

I got mine within a few months of them hitting the market, which I think was about 7 or 8 years ago. It has been very reliable.

I really liked it in its original format, but I've replaced the bull barrel with a lightweight version from Tactical Solutions. It carries much better on long walks now.

Very sexy rifle you have there, waterhouse.
The gun store a few miles from my house has one I've been admiring for a couple of years now. Only problem is, with the price they are asking, I can go buy a Lancaster AK-47 and still have enough scratch left to get half a dozen thirty round mags to go with it.
I expect they'll have it for a very long time unless someone with more money than sense comes along.

It's a very nice-LOOKING rifle. Especially the anodized aluminum models in various colors with the laminated hardwood.

As to function - I wouldn't call them "junk" - no, they're not "junk" - Browning doesn't make any junk. But there are quite a few stories of problems with accuracy or reliability, which is a bit perplexing, given that the pistol they are based on is quite good, reliable and accurate.

irt #5 I didn’t know they made aftermarket barrel for them.
What kind of accuracy can you get with it?

I can get really decent groups (never really measured them, as my 452 is my "groups" gun), but I'd say the trigger is the limiting factor, not the barrel. The trigger can be lightened with a flip of the sear spring, which helps a lot. I haven't benched it in a while, but I believe I was shooting sub-quarter sized groups at 40 yards the last time I had it on a rest. If I miss a squirrel, I know to blame myself, not the rifle.

They no longer make the rifle barrel, only the pistol ones, but there are rumors that they will do another run of Buckmark rifle barrels.
