Budget 223 bolt action?

Is there a low priced 223 bolt action? The cheapest Savages are $400, I was hoping for something more like $300. I may just have to go with a Saiga even though I was really wanting a bolt action.

I don't know of one in the $300 range. You might look for a used model. I've read the CZ 527s are good guns, but it would probably be hard to find one used in the $300 range. You might could find a used Rem. Model 7 or Ruger M77 in that range. It might be easier to find a used one in the $350-$375 range, though.

The Saiga is a reliable semi auto, though - and priced great.

If you're willing to go with a used gun, you could probably pick up a Savage for a lot less than $400. Apparently they're good rifles, but their resale value is lousy.

Just this morning, I saw a Savage in .243 with a Simmons (ugh) 3 x 9 scope for $349 at Wally World. The clerk said the same package was also available in other calibers, but .243 was all he had at the moment.
