The coyote brown is really ugly but I still have my eye on it.

They're pretty decent deals from what I've seen. If I were buying a fair priced 1911 from Bud's I'd probably go with this though.

Hi Doc, I thought that the SA 1911s were made in Brazil. I saw one on a rack last week with it inscribed in the frame.

Agree. I'd take that Springfield over a Para all day long.

I've only shot it once, so some owners would have better opinions. I think it's a good 1911. It performs well and is definitely a working gun. However, it is relatively new and I haven't seen any that have gone through too much abuse.

The Springfield is already proven, and a well-respected platform for possible upgrades and modifications in the future.

If you are really in need of saving a hundred bucks though, the Taurus is solid.

the SA shown is made in brazil. in fact even the "US made" springfields (some of the custome/high end guns and the occasional "parts bin special") are made from brazilian frames and slides.

but they're the best you'll find for the price, regardless of origin.

I have the Blue Para LTC Steel frame. It has a lot of extras. A great gun. More accurate than my Colt ;and just a fine gun with no problems out of the box. My first Para, but based on this gun it wont be my last.
Bud also has a full size Para for $555.00 and that isnt a bad price either. The Springfield is a nice gun too, but is a 5" barrel and tiny little sights. Cant loose with either one. Just get one .
Edit: I got to confess the more I look at the Coyote Brown the more I liked it. It is a light weight alloy frame though.

Those seem like decent prices, though I agree with others in choosing the SA over the para. Their customer service has a better rep too.

If you want a good inexpensive 1911, get an STI Spartan.

Bud's doesn't have one though, so no 12mos sac

I've bought many guns thru Buds. Great people, great service. I,ve got a Springer LDA Loaded model thru them as well as a PT1911. The PT1911 has an emerging problem with their ambi-safeties, They're junk. I replaced mine with Wilsons. I am currently selling my PT1911 because my Springer is my new love. If it was me, I would go for the Springfield first, then Taurus, then Para last.

YMMV.

The Springfield is a fine gun, I’m sure, but I’d find the extra 87 bucks somewhere and by the made in US Colt.
