I am considering building an 1851 navy from the frame up with a cartridge conversion cylinder. Looking at barrels for the project, would a .380 or a .36 barrel work better? I want to convert to .38 LC. The .380 is cheaper and so I would prefer that one, as long as it works and works safely.
