Building 1851 from frame up

I am considering building an 1851 navy from the frame up with a cartridge conversion cylinder. Looking at barrels for the project, would a .380 or a .36 barrel work better? I want to convert to .38 LC. The .380 is cheaper and so I would prefer that one, as long as it works and works safely.

The .380 is more original and you use hollow based heeled bullets and they shoot great. Especially at CAS yardages. the .other bbl is for the modern 38's and it'll shoot as good as well. just depends on how "Authentic" you want your shootin' Iron to be.

I would look at price and availability of projectiles before I made my choice. JMTC
