Actually had a great discussion about that very point Monday evening at church small group. I made the point that if we could read tone or have context clues then there likely wouldn’t be 943 ways to preach a sermon on the same 4 verses. It applies in all printed material and as often as we all see that, it is still hard to see it when we write it because we know what we meant.
