I am having a carry 1911 built and budget is $2000 if it HAS to be. The gunsmith is world class and can answer most if not all of my questions but I would like to hear from some much more experienced than I. Do you have some suggestions from your mistakes made, lessons learned the hard way, etc. on barrel length, accessories, bushing or not, ambi safety, "speedbump" grip safety, etc, etc. I have been competing with single stack 1911's for some time and have some of my own opinions but would love to hear yours. Throw in a comment about carry position and holster if you would like. Thank you very much for your time.
