Building new shotgun

Im building a new 870 shotgun. I finally tracked down a police folding stock and picked up a used 870 express. I stripped the wood stocks, and took off the 27in vented barrel. I want to add a 3 round magazine extension, and need to know what kind of barrel would be the best fit for this. Does anyone have any suggestions??

Could I get away with an 18in barrel and a +2 extension? I dont think I need sights.

18.5" barrel and a 2 shot extension were made for each other. Literally.

20" barrel and +3,same.

Yeah, pistol grip takes a little getting used to. My only regret was not finding a parkerized magazine extension. Other then that, Im in love.

How did you handle the dimple in the magzine of the 870 Express? I have heard some people drill them out and some try to tap them smooth.
