I've got to source a few thousand rounds of 9mm ammunition for an upcoming training class - enough so that I don't want to reload it all.

I normally buy bulk ammo from Georgia Arms, but I've heard some talk lately that the quality has been going downhill. I'm looking, right now, at 9mm 115grn. FMJ from The Hunting Shack and Atlanta Arms and Ammo.

Prices are comparable. Any comments on quality, accuracy, reliability?

Thanks,
Chris

Atlanta Arms and Ammo

I've had good luck with Atlanta Arms and Ammo. I bought 1000 rounds of 45 ball for a Hackathorn Advanced Handgun class last year, and it ran great. I was pleased with the quality and the price. I have fired another 1000 rounds of it with no problems.

I have only shot a couple of boxes of their 9mm stuff, but it has been fine. I would certainly buy more.

Walmart can work, you just need some ammo cans and then you can pretend its surplus!

put in a call to your local walmart manager and tell him that you are interested in getting xxxx amount of ammo... make sure you tell him that you are participating in a local event with other members of the community... and ask if he can include the amount you need in his next shipment from their distribution center... i know that several shooting clubs around here do this with 12ga shells and with clays...

Not a big sampling and only my experience, but the 500 round GA Arms 9mm bulk pack I bought was flawless, did nice groups. This was about a month ago.

Hi Chris, I don't know where you heard that Georgia Arms quality is going down but that has not been my experience. I've been purchasing regularly from them for almost five years now and the only thing I have noticed is that their prices have increased consistant with other's price increases (metal, fuel costs, etc).

I have found them to be honorable people to deal with and in fact am picking up 2000 rnds of .45acp 230gr FMJ on this coming Thursday.

I do not work for Georgia Arms or have any connection with them beyond being a happy, satisfied customer.

Peace and blessings,

Miwall Corp is a supplier of high quality bulk ammo. I have bought it at gunshows since 1994. They are on the web at Miwall Corp Wholesale Ammo

i take issue with the "reliable" and "high-quality" adjectives when applied to miwall.

I bought a case of 40 S&W and took it to ITTS. I had several "fat" rounds that took me out of action while I banged on the gun to eject the case.

You could clearly see that the round was fired out of a glock and not properly resized.

Miwall is "okay" practice ammo, but when Wally White Box works, why use Miwall?

I just recently ran through ~100 rounds of HSM 230gr fmj .45acp reloads that I took delivery of mid-late 2007. I did no accuracy testing, only using them during my normal training. That being said, I experienced no problems, and plan on using this stuff in all my classes this year. I bought 5k rounds last year @ ~$210/k shipped, and now wish I would have bought more.

At normal defensive training distances, as long as the bullet does not tumble, is accuracy even an issue?
