is there a good bullet weight and powder that can be used to load up plinking rounds for the 380 and 9mm?

I've been reloading for my 9mm for awhile and just picked up a 380 and it would be great if i didn't have to go out and start looking for different components.

Thanks

Bullets of 9mm diameter (.355") weighing 95gr are usually used in the .380 Auto, but can also be used in the 9mm Luger as well. My preference however would be to use 115gr jacketed bullets in both. They're not ideal for the .380 (a little too heavy), but they can work well with judicious loading. The Lyman 49th Reloading Handbook has pressure-tested data with both of these bullet weights for both calibers. The powders that work well in 9mm Luger will also work in the .380 Auto: Power Pistol, HS-6, 3N37, 231, etc.

Do what I did-get with LongDayJake=Rocky Mtn. Bullets=and order some of each=95gr. JHP for the .380 + 124gr. JHP for the 9mm. GREAT bullets for both calibers. Check out Jake-he is in the reloading for sale section.

Titegroup or 231 on both of them. 95gr JSP or JHP for the 380 is the most cost effective bullet I've found and 115 FMJs are dirt cheap.

I use 95 g Montana Gold with 3.1 Hodgdon Universal for the 380 and 124 g Montana Gold with 4.3 g Universal for the 9 mm.

A lot of folks don't like Unique because they consider it dirty and have metering problems. I don't find it much dirtier than, say, TITEGROUP (which does meter easier). But with a proper technique and a decent powder drop I haven't had problems.

I use an RCBS Uniflow with the small cylinder. I find that the charges are pretty uniform when I reload my 9mm. I do weigh a lot (sometimes every load, and then every other after 20 or 30) but that's just me.
