Bullet Comparison Website, Samples WANTED.

I am compiling an inventory of cast bullets for a website I'm working on. It will offer measurements, weight, and picture comparison of bullets to help with load development and also just as a fun reference. Also I will include variation samples and info when I have them. My site will be free for all, and will be useful for load development or comparison of cast bullets.


I am asking for bullet samples of any and all calibers to help me compile this data. I need the bullets to be presented to me with as much information as possible. This includes, but is not limited to, bullet number and name, any markings on the mould, Approximate or exact date year of mould if known, alloy. I need these samples to be in the raw. That means not lubed or sized or powder coated. I am glad to accept a sample size of 1 or up to as many as you wish to send. I want variations, so if you have a couple 429421 moulds that cast differently, please include both, with as many of these details as possible. Each needs to be separated in a baggy or envelope to keep from being damaged in transit and storage. I want both home cast and commercial cast samples. For commercial cast bullets, obviously I can't get them raw so I'll accept what I can get, but I need the info associated with them such as model and make. Also, if no detailed info is there, but you just have the mould number or make or any info, that is also accepted, and will be used as well. Just write a note with the info you DO have.

Yes, I am serious. Thank you for the offer @kcofohio I'm working on compiling the data and learning the required coding present. Its been a passion of mine quite a while and I just had the idea to use this info I am amassing for myself as a huge reference and cross reference site. I want to be able to cross reference all of LEE's bullets to the applicable LYMAN and RCBS bullets. As well as all of the commercial versions available. That way it will be a resource for people that are working of loads.

I have a thread started on castboolits with no help so far. The right people haven't seen it yet I reckon. I have a list of bullets I have so far I will add here.

Curious if you need NOE bullets as their drawings provide all the data one would need. If only that was the standard.....

I don't know that things have slowed over there. But there isn't anyone jumping to provide bullet samples yet.

I do want NOE bullets.

I know they have drawings. But what I'm building is a bullet database for both measurement and comparison. I want to have pictures that are all to scale so that bullets can be visually compared, as well as measurements of critical things like used case volume. But I also am going to include similar bullets in the page for each individual bullet. For example, the RCBS 38-150-SWC, and the LEE 358-140-SWC both have the same used case volume. Since there is not data for the latter, you can use data for the former. This would be for a newer reloader probably, in 38 special, but in 357 using w296, it would be useful for anyone.

I have a couple very serious leads on samples so far. The one I have personally seen the need for is LEE moulds. I really want Lyman and RCBS because they offer data for their moulds, and LEE so that I can build a cross-reference chart.

But also it is going to have measurements and a scale picture of each bullet so you can compare them visually and get an idea if the bullet you're looking up would suit your needs. So for example, you will be able to search by caliber and anything that is suitable for 38 special will show up by diameter .357 and .358, then in descending order, less relevant diameters like .359, .356. and so on.
