Bullet for .31 !!!!

Hi, I shoot handgun since 20 years and i just to buy a black powder revolver 1848 Baby dragoon .31. I know absolutly nothing about these kind of firearm my question is, where i can buy bullets for this caliber? The best load for this caliber is?
Is it true than you can put a Crisco grease instead of the grease normally use for this?.

0 Buck shot is .320 & is the right size for .31 caliber C&B revolvers, you can sometimes find them in the shot shell reloading section of the sporting goods store like Bass Pro of the like.

10 - 15gr. FFFG is the normal load for these lil pistols, & you can use Pyrodex P too.

Crisco is a great alternative for lube.

The shot size "0" buck is .32 in diameter. Size "1" is .30, size "00" is .33 diameter.

I just got a little .31 cal remmy and ordered 5 lbs from cabelas of 0 buck shot from what I can figure about 900 rounds for $25 gee I sure do wish I could buy .454 rounds like this. and also .375 or.380 in bulk also.lol

.31 lead balls

I bought several boxes from Buffalo Bullets in Santa Fe Springs,Ca. of .320 dia. 50 grain swaged balls. I can't remember what I paid, but they are of excellent quality. The "0" buckshot by the pound is the cheapest way to go, but our local Cabela's in N. Texas doesn't seem to carry that particular size.
Buffalo Bullets does provide excellent service, so I will be purchasing from them again.

Colt (Uberti) 1849 Pocket .31 call's for.323 balls. Guess other stuff will work good enough to get by but Mr. Colt said use .323. He's the one who designed and built it. He ought to know what you're supposed to stick in it..Great White Hunter..

I stand by my earlier post. I don't know what Mr. Remington said about his .31 because I don't use a Remington .31. However, I do use the hell out of a Colt (Uberti) .31 and have copies of the paperwork pertaining to the design and functioning of this revolver and I know exactly what Mr. Colt said about his .31 and I know a hell of a lot more about what he and Walker had to say about the .44 Colt Walker than I'vd read a lot of people on here saying. Since I happen to own and use the firearms mentioned here I also know what Mr. Remington had to say about his '58 and what he had to say about his carbine. I made it my business to find out in my own way..Great White Hunter..
