I get enough lube coming off after seating the bullet, it's really annoying.
I have to spend quite a bit of time wiping it off and it also gets smeared onto
the dies too. ARGH!

I've had excellent results w/ 200gr LSWC from precision delta for .45ACP.
They use this "clear" lube all over the bullet. Althought it also smears a bit
too, it just takes one wipe and it's easy to clean.

On the other hand, other lead bullets with just the blue groove lube is very
annoying.

How do you guys manage this?
Thank you.

My preferred lube for cast bullets is Alox type, which is soft and buttery yellow. A little does get onto the cases when seating bullets and I do take the time to wipe it off before shooting the ammo. I have used this lube for nearly 40 years because it gives good results in shooting with no leading in .45 ACP and little to none in .44 Mag ammo.

Good shooting and be safe.

this is why I seat and crimp on two seperate dies.Eliminates lube or jacket material from being scraped off as the die is crimping the bullet.

CLEAN BRASS PRESERVES VALUE OF LOADER

As a LO and police depts reloader I used a cement mixer with apricot hulls with a half cup of paint thinner, loaded on my automatic loaders and tumbled ammo in corn cob with cup of kerosene, came out beautiful loaded millions kero preserved lead and brass never a misfire learned from bigger reloader than me kept secret til he soldhis business to japan for a cool million.

If you'll bell your brass a little more and crimp in a seperate stage, you will have minimal lube getting on the exterior of your brass. This should just about take care of your frustration. At least with this problem......

Hope this helps.

Listen to Mr. Jones folks. He turned me onto that kerosene trick a few years ago. Works very well.
