bullet lube question

Hey all,
I'm getting ready to load up my .40 s&w for the first time. I bought some Berry MFG 165 FP bullets that are fully copper plated. I called Berry, and they said they are not lubed, but the person I talked to did not know if I needed to lube them. Does anyone know if they need it, and if so what do you suggest I use as far as lube, and the method to do several rounds worth at once. Usually, I get lasercast which are prelubed for my 357, so I never had to deal with this before.

The copper plating should be adequate to prevent leading, so no lube will be needed and I would keep velocities moderate. You can apply a small amount of Lee liquid ALOX to cast bullets (even jacketed) if they lead despite their "candle wax" lube in the lube groove. Downside is liquid Alox is kinda messy, but it works very well.

No lube of any kind is needed, necessary, or even wanted on any type of copper jacketed or plated bullets. The exception is molly lubed bullets that are impact plated with molybdenum disulfide. The molly is mainly for high velocity rifle bullets, is results in less copper fouling, not something you have to worry about at handgun velocities.
