It seems like a lot of THR members who post in the shotgun forum are really enamored of pump shotguns with the wood stocks and foregrips, so I'm not expecting a big welcome here for this new SKO-Bullpup, but if the thing works reliably (which the non-bullpup versions seems to), this could really be a great home defense shotgun.

Its pictured here in the bullpup and non-bullpup configuration.

I was kind of surprised that the bullpup wasn't shorter than the non-pullpup

Probably an unpopular opinion, but that would seem to remove the one single solitary advantage a bullpup design could be claimed to have.

But I'm thinking and trying to come up with another one...

I meant to say "I was kind of surprised that the bullpup wasn't a whole lot shorter than the non-pullpup"

It looks like they only shaved 6" off the OAL versus the non-bullpup.

Although I'm certainly a pump gun guy (it's all I know, was trained on, and used)... I'd be glad to hear more about any "better mousetrap". All of my shotgun ability involved potential armed confrontations on the street - any new popper that would make that more certain of success (going home at the end of each shift was my only goal, way back then...) will be welcomed by me.

Over the years bullpups and AR/AK styled shotguns haven't exactly proved trouble free so most probably aren't looking into them as a result.

If the OAL is anywhere near 26" (and it looks pretty short even in standard configuration) there's not a lot of room to cut down length for a bull pup version. Happen to have those figures?

I like the top one, but even though I like bull pups in theory, in practice they don't do it for me, with a few exceptions. Being a lefty, I need a pup that's either a downward eject or a forward eject. That limits me, and since I can't even see the ejection port on this, I'm assuming it's standard right side ejection. OK for the regular, no go for the pup.

I like "tactical" shotguns like this, they usually are out of my willing to spend range.

I have scoured the internet and not found OAL for the SKO-Bullpup. The model at SHOT Show was not a working model. The rear stock contains a spring.

I don't understand what is under the barrel forward of the trigger - its like where a magazine tube would be on a regular shotgun, but this is fed with a box magazine. Maybe its just a foregrip and a sling mount.

Longer barrel in the same overall length. That's normally a positive for rifles, but shotguns I don't think an extra 2 inches makes a world of difference.

from your extensive 12 gauge experience?....

I said I don't know if it makes that big a difference, I don't believe it does in these bullpup configs, but I could be wrong.
