I am not all that familiar with the shotgun realm, and not a big shotgunner. I have a 590a1, and a 590spx, and 2 mossberg 930's. I really don't hunt, and being in a chair, want a shotgun that is short, handy, and doesnt sacrifice payload.

I have seen Mossberg 500's dressed up in a bullpup configuration, which, needed some refining, but felt pretty decent to me. I was wondering if doing the same thing to a semi auto was acceptable or not? providing that barrel length would be 20 inches, and the over all length I think, is supposed to be 26 inches or more.

So is this even legal?

If the gun had a barrel length of 18 inches and a OAL of 26 inches, it is legal. I think the 930 has a recoil spring inside of the buttstock like most semi autos. I'm too tired to do a google search though.

For a short shotgun without going into NFA, I'd recommend the KSG when they come out in 20 years.

Look at how the 930 operates. How do you envision it still working as a bullpup?

One could have a semi auto bull pup provided it had an 18" barrel and 26" OAL. The 930 wouldn't work though

I've seen some saiga 12 conversion but think I would rather just have a SBS. I like bullpups generally but guns that are converted to that configuration typically are not that great. I'd be very interested in a semi auto factory bullpup of some sort.
