What kind of shooting do you want to do? Fixed 3x won't be great for fast shooting at under 25 yards, like 3-gun or some other competitions.
I've looked at the AR-332 before and on paper it's great, but reviews of it at MidwayUSA indicated some quality control issues. Also I seem to remember it's assembled in China, while most conventional scopes in that range are assembled in the Phillippines, Japan, or even the USA (Redfield/Leupold).
Midway offers a 1-4x24mm Burris scope which has a similar target user but offers a true 1x at one end, which allows it to work almost like a red dot, and a 4x high end. It's about the same price as the AR332. You lose the compact size from the prism, and you might (but probably don't) lose some ruggedness, but you get a useful 1-4x zoom and very good optics. Of course you'll need to spend another $70+ on a mount, so the price goes up a bit overall. I have one and really like it.

There are several 1-4x quality options out right now in the $300 range (Nikon is another one) that might be worth a look.
FWIW, I have a genuine ACOG as well, and while it's really small, light, and rugged, I don't think it's the most sensible choice for someone who is NOT actually in and out of Bradleys and choppers all day.
