I once had a Sightron which would fail that chart test miserably at 200m. Even with parallax adjustment it was garbledy gook.
My experience with Sightron has generally been good. I also compared one of my SII 6-24x42 and a Weaver V-24 (pictured below) on the same day and again was a little surprised to see those two outperform the S-TAC. I kind of wonder if there's something not exactly right about this S-TAC (it's the only one I own, so I don't have another one to compare to).

I find my 3-16 Stac to be a little nicer than the ffe1 Ive got....but nothing besides looking at stuff like fences, leaves, flowers and stuff lol. Ill try print out the resolution target, and give it another try.

I have had two Sightron target scopes, one back about 12 years ago was great, one about 6 years ago was not. These were SII IIRC. 1" tube, tall knobs, AO. The last one, I put out a regular 1" grid rifle target at 200m and could not get it real clear even with the AO. So that was glass clarity. For a cheap scope I do like my STAC on a 22lr.
I got in the Burris yesterday, and put it on the 25-06. I like it quite a bit so far, but have not put it to use. Seems like an example of how some things can get better over time.

My rig. Savage Model 10 dressed with a Burris Fullfield E1.
The E1 reticle on the 4.5-14X42 is different than the reticle on the 6.-20X50.. I really like this reticle, uncluttered, simple and the cross hairs do not extend all the way across the field.

The guys at the range that shoot a winter league of 100yds to 300yds have talked me into joining next year and it has been suggested a higher power scope so I am already looking at the Fullfield IV 6-24 with the E3 MOA reticle.
