Burris Mount - LPA vs. Bomar

Burris has a mounting plate for a Bomar cut. I have a LPA cut rear sight. I know there are slight differences in the cut but will the Bomar mounting plate work on an LPA cut for a Fastfire? Thanks!

I've seen LPA sights mounted in "factory" dovetails on a number of different guns. Is there, in fact, a standard LPA base?

Which GUN are you trying to fit?

STI Spartan is the gun. I have been told it is an LPA cut. From what I can tell it is deeper than a Bomar and in a slightly different location.

If it's a factory-installed sight, you might try contacting STI for more info -- and they may have options for you, or can certainly give you specs. You might also talk with the people who make the new unit you want to install, and ask them.

(I've heard of Bomar cuts -- and there's more than one of those -- but I had not previously heard of an LPA cut. I've had LPA sights on several different guns, all of them factory stock, with different dovetails.)

Thanks Walt. I am beginning to wonder if half the stuff I read on the internet is right. I have reached out to STI to get the real answer on the cut. On their website they show the adjustable sight I have on my Spartan and label it "Fits Bomar cut 60 degree X .359". A quick measure with my digital calipers show .356" (pretty darn close). I think that settles it but I'll wait for STIs response. I have a sneaking suspicion it is an LPA sight with a Bomar type cut. Thanks again. I posted a link to the page at STI.
